Our readings establish a tension.  Both readings involve fervent prayer.  One prayer is answered. One is not.  We know what it’s like to have prayers unanswered.  It’s not fun.  It’s hard.  Today we will have a chance to rejoice and find hope in the answered and unanswered prayers

Who can see?  That’s kind of the main question of todays story and prayer.  It’s pretty clear that a bunch of people CAN’T see.  It’s also pretty clear that Elisha’s simple prayer powerfully changes the sight of several people.  This morning it’s important too for us to digest who can see (can we)….and why?
