First Communion Class

Communion is an amazing gift that Jesus gives his followers! It is important to take time to learn about this meal and all the awesome things that come with it, like forgiveness, freedom from slavery to sin, victory over death, and unity with Jesus and other believers.

At first communion classes, we learn about the meaning and importance of this special meal that Jesus has given us. At the end, students will get to take their first communion and start receiving these amazing benefits for themselves!

About Class

Who: This is a class for students 5th grade and up to attend with a parent or faith mentor.

When: The class will meet on Sunday mornings from 11:30-12:30 on January 21, 28, February 4, 11 and 18th. First communion Sunday will be decided during the class.

Where: At Rez, TBD

What will the class be like?:

  • At our first class, we will re-enact the Passover meal where Jesus started Communion.
  • The following classes will have a combination of Bible reading, teaching from Kristen, as well as parent time. During parent time, we will give you and your student a question to talk about together.
  • One-on-on: After class, Kristen will meet with each student (students get to decide if they would like their parent or faith mentor to come too). At this meeting, we will have time to talk about any questions from the class, go over a projects we will talk about in class, and talk about how we can keep growing as disciples of Jesus.

What should I bring to class? A bible, a pen, your workbook (we will give this to you at the first class), and a parent or faith mentor.
